Overview Sink Tray 02 is part of the HELIX collection within Engineered Modern - a series of surface-focused objects designed for wet environments. The goal is not novelty, but refinement: controlled drainage, improved airflow, and deliberate geometry.

System Context HELIX explores how objects interact with surface, gravity, and contact in water-adjacent spaces. Each piece in the collection prioritizes:

• Intentional slope
• Reduced water retention
• Elevated contact surfaces
• Clean internal geometry
• Stable countertop interaction

Key Design Decisions

• 5-degree Drainage Plane The base surface is intentionally sloped to reduce standing water and encourage runoff toward the sink.
• Elevated Rib Geometry Ribs lift cleaning tools off the base surface to improve airflow and underside drying.
• Generous Internal Radii Blends were sized for wipe-down cleaning and to minimize residue accumulation.
• Recessed Silicone Foot Pockets Shallow underside pockets accept adhesive silicone pads for friction and countertop protection without increasing stack height.
• Expanded Footprint (9" × 5") Sized to accommodate sponge, scrubber, and brush without crowding.

Intended Placement Optimized for undermount sinks with flush countertops, allowing slight overhang so runoff returns to the basin.

• Material: PETG recommended
• Layer height: 0.20–0.24 mm
• Walls: 2–4 perimeters
• Infill: 15–20%
• Orientation: Base flat on build plate -Supports: Not required if you choose “Support critical regions only” from the Advanced Support menu. Otherwise the foot pockets will get supports.
