The biggest problem I had with the Hextraction launcher tile was balls coming into too hot and bouncing out of the loading zone into other tiles or up against the trigger. I added a wall which seems to solve the issue.

I made no other functional changes to the design, so if you're having trouble getting the spring mechanism to work, this model won't change that. Sorry.
