Paralane Rotating Desk Organizer Lamp
My last design did so well I decided to take it further by adding a fully functional Lamp on top of our rotating desk organizer.
This is a great space saver that combines your desk lamp with a rotating organizer for optimal desktop layouts.
This also works very well as a night stand or side table lamp to store TV remotes or even reading glasses.
I also improved the bearings on this design. I'll make sure to update the Rotating Desk Organizer.
To assemble lamp you will need some glue.
- Print 8 spinner bearings and two alignment pins (together w/brim)
- Add glue to the flat side of the spinner top… don't put glue in the alignment holes.
- Use alignment pins to align spinner top to bottom of organizer and connect the two until glue is dry. Make sure spinner top is aligned by making sure the center hole lines up correctly with the organizer center hole. The alignment pins are not an exact fit since they should be removed.
- Glue the flat side of the tower to the top of the organizer… make sure the walls are aligned correctly before glue drys.
- Glue the wider flat side of the socket-seat-top to the wider flat side of the socket seat bottom… make sure the walls are aligned correctly before glue drys
- Run the wire for the lamp socket through the socket-seat-top, into the the lamp shade top and through the shade socket hole and finally through the lamp tower out the bottom of the lamp
- Push the socket seat into the tower to secure the lamp shade.
This design was created to fit pendant lamp sockets. I'll post links to Amazon for the one's I used.
