Tamiya TA01/02 Celica rally chassis

Purchase model for $23.99 USD

10/30/2025 Update**** Added right hand drive model. When printing you will need one of each of either RHD or LHD listed parts. Also fixed the Go pedal that interfered with the servo cover.

This is a full chassis replacement for the Tamiya TA01/02 chassis. Specifically, the Tamiya Celica Gt4 ST205. It is designed to be a more scale alternative to the original chassis. You need a doner Tamiya TA01/02 to make this. The parts used from the Tamiya kit are the full front and rear gear cases and suspension.

You will need a TA01 center drive shaft for this model as it is longer than the TA02.

obviously, you will need to source electronics too

Other bodies may fit this, but I cannot confirm right now. If you choose this model and you have other bodies that do fit, please let me know!

3D printing settings

For printing I used PLA+. Minimum print bed size is 220mm.

15% infill for everything except the roll cage which is 100% infill.

you can go higher on infill percentage if you would like but it makes it heavier than needed.

There is a hole in the back gearbox cover for a 30mm fan to help with cooling the motor.

This model uses a variety of M3 screws/nuts.

M3 x 8mm button head: A bunch. I ordered a 100-count pack from amazon and used a majority of them.

M3 x 12mm socket or button head: 6 pcs (2 through rear gearbox cover into rear shock tower. 2 through front cage in to front wheel arches, 1 through steering wheel into dashboard and 1 through the battery/fuel tank tab into the exhaust to keep the batter cover on)

M3 X 12mm counter sunk screw: 8 pcs (for the bottom of chassis. (black section in center, see photo) Note, pay attention to how the rear arms are facing.

M3 x 20mm: 3 pcs to bolt the chassis halves together

M3 nut: 3 pcs to bolt chassis halves together

M3 x 25mm button head: to screw the servo cover into the top of the front gear case.

The door cards are zip tied on. They are easier to zip tie with the roll cage off. You can use Velcro to attach the body if you would like or just use the traditional body posts.

Print the battery cover/ fuel tank on the side that faces the rear gearbox cover. This will make sure it's strong enough to slot into the rear bumper/chassis. The decoration pcs are to be glued on.

For the electronics I used and sourced everything from Amazon. Please see these parts to find sizes if you will be purchasing new electronics and want to use alternatives.

Surpass hobby Supersonic 3650 4700Kv brushless motor and Waterproof ESC 60Amp combo.

Receiver: small DumboRc P6F 6 channel.

Battery: Zeee 2S 2200mAh Shorty lipo battery

Servo: 25kg high torque servo for 1/10 scale cars. It has red aluminum case.

wire extenders for the battery and motor cables.
