After a surprising amount of requests we've added our jars here to Thangs.

Everyone needs jars that are not only functional, but also scalable jars AND ones that make great flush objects! If you do a lot of multi-color printing having a functional object to take up what would otherwise be waste is great!

These jars are very scalable. We've printed them as small as 25mm up to 250mm tall.

Printing Notes:

  • To set as flush object rightclick on the jar and under flush options select "Flush into objects infill", "Flush into this object".
  • We use Octagram spiral for the bottom surface pattern on the lids to add character.
  • When used as flush objects Gyroid 10-15% infill helps to use up more potential waste.
  • When resizing you must scale the lid and jar together.

I'm new at all of this so please bear with me...lol. Are these made instead of the flush towers?

No worries! No, these are added to the plate in addition to what you're printing to make instead of the waste. You probably still need your prime tower to adjust the flow after a switch and to help clean the nozzle.

Can you explain to me how to know which size to use when doing a mulitcolor print?

Which ever fits best on your plate and is tall enough to cover most or all of the multi-color layers. You can also resize them to match. Just be sure to select the jar and lid at the same time when resizing so they fit. We've done them from about 15mm to well over 200mm.
