Giant, Functional Novelty Pen - No AMS or similar multi-color system
It's a giant pen!! What more could you ask for!!??
The "pen cartridge" needed for this giant pen is a simple Bic pen. Refer to images for what the pen looks like.
This can be printed on a 180x180x180 build plate! That means it can be printed on an A1 mini or Prusa mini! What's more, it does not require an AMS or similar multi-color system to print!!
Update July 31, 2025: The clearance was too tight on the pen holder part. Updated pen tip, spring, and pen holder to increase the clearance so it clicks more easily.
Update July 25, 2025: Added multi-color option with "BP" on the pen. Also made adjustments to the outer shaft and pen clip housing so the z-seam aligns together more closely.
Printing Instructions: The 3mf file provided was created using Bambu Studio and should have the following settings already configured.
- Layer height: 0.2mm
- Supports: Nope!
Spring: The slicer is most likely going to complain and warn you about floating cantilever. You can ignore this. The spring has built-in supports that are meant to be removed. It is also recommended to print the spring in something other than PLA. PETG or similarly durable filament will work fine.
- Infill: 100% (To add stiffness to the spring)
Assembly: Please refer to the assembly guide to assemble the pen.
For removing spring built-in supports, refer to the linked YouTube video.
After assembly, if you find it difficult to actuate the click, you could add some lubrication to the portions of the clicker that rub together to make it easier.
Thank you for your time and consideration on this matter.
