Stone from Avebury Neolithic Circle
This is a 3D scan of one of the ancient neolithic stones in Avebury, a henge monument in Wiltshire, England. It was made from square 1440 pixel video produced by an Insta360 X4 camera, then uploaded to KiriEngine for processing to a mesh.
The digital model was adjusted to a true scale using a LIDAR scan from the iOS 3DScannerApp. It was then processed using a combination of Meshmixer, Blender and Nomad Sculpt. That process was intended to remove overhangs that could cause a need for supports when 3D printing in FDM.
The model is at 1:25 scale (around 100mm tall) and I have successfully printed it half size (around 1:50) on my Flashforge Adventurer 3C printer, so a 1:76 (Hornby OO) scale model should be possible too.
