The Lover’s Valentines Game, a tabletop game made for 2 to 8 players.

Just in time for Valentine’s Day - my most novel creation and possibly my greatest contribution to mankind… a way to get into all kinds of trouble and have a lot of fun.

To start: Each player has a Box Deck and a Heart Box. The player writes secret notes with instructions and puts inside of the heart box. What kind of notes? That’s up to you! “Kiss me” “Stand on one foot and bark like a dog” “Sing a song” “Imitate Christopher Walken” – ‘Hey, you’re talking to my guy all wrong. It’s the wrong tone’ “Tell us your greatest fear”

The heart boxes are then mixed up so that no one knows who has what. Each player has a base which the heart box sits in. Spin the arrow and when it stops, the player it is pointing at must open the box and follow the instructions in the heart box. Who goes first? It’s up to you to determine that. You can choose by age, last person to arrive etc. make it your own.

Each player must make an equal number of secret notes before the game starts, and each time a box is opened it is replaced with another secret note. Keep the notes in a hat, bag etc. where no one can see what is on the note. Make as many notes as you like for longer or shorter games. A DXF template file is included if you want to print heart-shaped notes to cut out, or you can use any piece of paper small enough to fit in the box. Play until all of the notes are gone.

You can pass if you perform a task agreed upon by the other players. Example – If you don’t want to do what is on the note, then the group agrees you must quack like a duck etc.

For a 2-player game, this is a cheeky way to propose.

Variations:

Strip Poker (ish) – roll the dice, spin the arrow. The player that the arrow stops at must remove a number of articles of clothing based on the number you rolled. If you roll a 3, the player must remove 3 articles of clothing. It can get sticky fast. The game is over when someone is au naturale.

For a fun variation guaranteed to have everyone dying with laughter - A player panel with a + - is included, give one to each player with the + - facing the player. At the beginning of the game each player must remove one article of clothing to start. Spin the arrow and the game begins with the person it stops at. If the arrow stops closer to the + sign, the player must put on the number of articles of clothing indicated on the dice. Example, someone rolls a 2 and the arrow stops at you on the + side, you must put on 2 articles of clothing, so you could end up wearing someone else’s hat, shirt, bra, socks… If there aren’t enough spare pieces of clothing – say you roll a 3 and there are only 2 items available, you put on what is available. You get a pass if no clothing is available.

If the arrow stops closer to the – side, you must remove articles of clothing based on the number on the dice. The game is over when someone is totally bare or someone throws in the towel. This is a great winter time game when it’s cold and miserable outside and everyone is wearing a lot of clothing to keep warm. Not for long, though 😊

Drinking Game The + - panel has a little socket, which by some divine magical intervention is the perfect diameter for a standard shot glass. Roll the dice, spin the arrow, the player the arrow stops at must take the number of shots indicated on the dice. Now you see why the dice only goes up to three…

For a more challenging variation, if the arrow lands closer to the + sign you must drink the shots, if it lands closer to the – sign, you have the option to make someone else drink your shots. Yeah, it’s gonna get dirty near the end.

And the best variation is for last.

Strip drinking game. Each player has a + - panel. If the arrow stops at or closer to the +, the player must drink shots based on the number on the dice. If the arrow stops closer to the -, the player must remove articles of clothing based on the number on the dice.

You can also play classic group games like Truth or Dare or Spin the Bottle.

Simple, fun, endlessly customizable and entertaining. You can make an almost endless variety of games.

Build and assembly: You can use ordinary PLA with this model and make it as colorful as you like. I print with 4 walls and 50% triangular infill with properly dried filament – tolerances are critical for smooth spinning.

Print the base and 8 Player Indicator Panels. You can glue these into place if you like. Print as many Box Decks, Heart Boxes, or + - shot glass panels as you want. Print the spinner arrow. Note the arrows in the picture are printed with exposed infill and no bottom layers for appearance.

The design is modeled for this type of bearing: https://www.amazon.com/XiKe-6000-2RS-10x26x8mm-Pre-Lubricated-Performance/dp/B07S8K6N6Z/ref=sr_1_4?crid=3TWCUX0GP9QN6&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.tUoU75-kTsnyYZlnIOquFIlMr5lOuGAwqyASpzLZxWeCLIweYaVw6AdYdqeNftx9RmcmZIwcB_NaFxiKIb8uBa2hpj9cDNnc7NkOlVTJvxiOHml93HtrnhGUSVaT9saYEkN0SBUfG0gja6KWh1g2w_UJQSmYk-TwlvofnbcHxpWR75DXDMLZgnWaiLpqgXn-4Y4auSvpLAO0RKafj5nOKN3dLwvnGSA8DlNQVZBnVjo.GFOmCeMoaLt8UJWAJLOKaRXhmZns8J1U1u9DSpERx-A&dib_tag=se&keywords=6000-2rs%2Bbearing%2B10x26x8%2Bsealed%2Bball%2Bbearings&qid=1737798941&sprefix=6000-2RS%2B%2Caps%2C175&sr=8-4&th=1

Place the bearing inside of the spinner. It should be a snug fit. If it’s a little loose (all bearings aren’t made with the same degree of precision, unfortunately) you can wrap a little Scotch tape around the bearing and trim it then push the bearing in. We’re not pulling G’s at the Nurburgring here so it won’t be making any high RPM’s. Push the spinner assembly firmly onto the upright shaft until it seats firmly. It should be firm enough for the shaft to rest snugly in the center of the bearing.

F3d files are included for remixing.
