An S-scale (1:64) model of a GWR design O35 open wagon and DX container. There are 3 separate parts: (1) Body and Chassis with wheels lightly "interlocked", which means you can gently flex the 'w'-irons to remove them to clean the pinpoints if you need to, or fit something else with 30.5 mm pinpoint axles if you prefer. I envisage nice metal ones from the S Scale Model Railway Society, but I have not verified this. (2) DX open container, intended for carrying stone blocks, and (3) A pair of stretchers for the top of the container, sprued together. There is a vertical hole in the top surface of each one to fit a post, and angled holes in the scutcheons close to the ends to fit a curved wire running over the top of the post. Look at a picture of an open container on British Railways to see what I mean. These parts have all been rescaled from 4mm and 7mm models previously offered on Shapeways former marketplace. This is my first upload to thangs, to find out how things work. File version 04 (after correction) 20250317 updated the model to increase the axle length slightly (from nominal 30mm between pinpoints to nominal 31mm) to match wheelsets used by other S-scale modellers, so the parts are interchangeable. Also made the wagon side and end walls slightly thinner. File version 06.
