Is this viable for FDM printing?
Yes, but as has been said, 0.2mm nozzle, really good dialled in settings, be sparing on supports and be careful with the interface layer. Finally a decent filler primer to reduce the visible layer lines. Colour bleed along the layer lines is the biggest issue I've faced on larger FDM minature prints, so washes can be problematic.
All you can do is try. As mikejr83 says, tune in your printer settings. Use a 0.2mm nozzle and maybe even PETG as a support interface since this will not bond with the main model if printed in PLA. I've a Bambu P1S and will plan on giving this a try.
I'm not as pessimistic, but you'll need a extremely tuned in printer. I've seen the Bambu A1's pull of some good mini prints, but you're going to need to your support settings dialed in perfectly. You may want to try scaling it up some if you try it on a FDM machine.
