MALLA | woven bowl & plate, multi-purpose
Multi-purpose set of woven bowl & plate. Use it as a key bowl, or for pot-pourri, dried flowers or other scented items. The woven pattern diffuses the scents much better than a classic glass bowl.
It comes in 2 sizes:
- a bowl (Ø150mm, H62mm)
- and a plate (Ø200mm, H 32mm).
The woven pattern can be printed by any printer with a classic 0.4mm nozzle.
Happy printing!
DIMENSIONS (bowl) | Ø 150 mm, H 62 mm
DIMENSIONS (plate) | Ø 200 mm, H 32 mm
3D PRINT SETTINGS All STL files are already oriented properly.
For the base plate, to achieve the woven pattern you have to turn off the top and bottom layers (set to 0), and pick an infill pattern of your choice (gyroid pattern on the pictures) with 30% to 40% infill. On top of that, for small nozzles, push the "infill line width" to about twice the size of your nozzle to extrude more material (so 0.8mm infill line width for a 0.4mm nozzle). The items in the pictures were printed with a 0.4mm nozzle.
To ensure a super clean and sticky first layer, push the "initial layer line width" to about 150% of your nozzle size. For a 0.4mm nozzle, that's a 0.6mm line width.
Layer height: 0.3 mm (no less, no more) Line width: 0.5mm (for a 0.4mm nozzle, so as to extrude a bit more material and achieve a cleaner weave) Wall line count (perimeter walls): 2 Top layers: 0 Bottom layers: 0 Infill: 30% to 40% Infill pattern: gyroid Infill line width: 0.8mm Build adhesion type: None Supports: None

Hello Charles! This looks just beautiful! Thank you very much for sharing this design, I already got it. Can you please comment on what filament you used? I don't think any other would look the same.
Thanks! I used a Ruby Red filament by ERYONE. They have beautiful colours and print quite well. But any other brand should work too. I think dark colours make the bowl look more premium, but pastel colours should look nice too.
One more question: one of your photos show the bottoms of the bowl and plate as a mesh also and mine are solid. Is there a different file for these? I just got my printer three weeks ago and I'm still learning as much as possible and when I'm ready I'm planning in becoming a member so I will be able to sell the finished products, so I'm trying to find the best (such as yours!).
Thanks for the tip! Unfortunately, they don't seem to have it anymore, neither in Mexico nor in the USA.
It's the right model, with the full faces. Check out the suggested print settings to create the mesh. Basically you have to cancel the top and bottom faces (set to 0 layers), and pick an infill of your choice to create the mesh. The mesh on the pictures is a 30% gyroid infill.
Thank you very much! I'll print them again with a different filament that I ordered just for these since the one you pointed out is not available at this time
