You will need either a 90 or 180 (u shaped) USB adapter. I would suggest something like this https://www.amazon.com/AreMe-Adapter-Extender-Transfer-Charging/dp/B0B95WNKJJ/ref=psdc_306629011_t3_B0B6ZL5RRC so it puts less strain on the USB port.

HP Z440 Workstation Hdd Sled Caddy

Here I have a pretty basic model for inserting another HDD into the HP Z440 Workstation's drive bay. Unlike the default caddy, this one is friction fit as well as requires four drive screws instead of being toolless.
