This is a quick OpenSCAD animation of the puzzle featured here (Chris Ramsay)

I'm planning to construct a similar puzzle box but printable with minimal assembly and just short of the $2000 price point.

Using the animation view in OpenSCAD, the solution presented in the video can be played back to aid in the mechanical design.

This model is not intended for printing (yet). I still need to add the box frame and slidey bits to support the movement as shown.

Update: Added a few inner layers to support 3D movement and interlocking of pieces. Started coding "tracks" for sliding movement. Added animation (View Original of thumbnail image).
