The Rail

The Rail - Going to add some learnings here just for anyone else struggling with this print on an older printer. I'll start by saying the model has been updated and things print much better!! My Ender 3 still couldn't quite keep up though even with the fix. I ended up slicing via Orca and using the classic and arachne Wall Generator options and viewing the preview I could still see the seams being added on some of the tight/small areas. The model printed using the Classic Wall Generator setting did give me fewer seams and better results, especially in regards to random gaps generated in the pattern. I do believe I could have messed with some more settings to maybe have eventually gotten a smooth print in the end, but honestly just printing this on a Bambu labs printer solved the gaps or over extrusions. I included a photo of the preview of a slice path as well where you can see that Orca is trying to fill in space on the Ender printer with a straight line which leads to extrusions in that area of the print. I'm calling my exploration here, but for those experiencing this issue, I hope this is a useful start to attempting to get a smoother print on an older printer! - 3d model
