Print in place articulated timelapse cam mount

Generally, I use my 3D printer for prototyping and academic purpose but the biggest problem for me was exactly what to print which is more
practically functional than normal prototypes I print. Sharing the story behind this design which was made out of necessity.

On a rainy day, I received a camera that I was supposed to use for a timelapse of a 3d print. Later I realised that I need a mount that would
connect the camera to the print bed. I searched on the internet for a mount design but most of them required fasteners for the assembly (Fasteners were not available and it was raining heavily) or were not providing desired articulation...so I decided to design my own!

I used Fusion 360 for the part design. Initially, I designed a simple articulated 3 member part with 2 hinges which worked fine for few minutes. Later I 
realized that the mount started to sag due to vibrations from the print bed. I felt a need for some kind of locking mechanism for the hinges. Currently, I am working on a print in place compliant mechanism for my academic project, so one of the mechanism which I remembered while I was researching for the project was a bistable compliant switch. I took a reference from that mechanism and made my version of a bistable locking mechanism and Incorporated the same in this design.

The bistable locking mechanism not only prints in place but also looks cool on a rather boring boxy camera mount for a normal person. I printed this design
on my Ender-3 and chamfers were given on the lower edges of the mount to avoid elephant's foot. A gap of 0.75 mm between moving parts was maintained to
avoid welding. I printed this part with PLA with 0.25mm layer height at 70mm/sec print speed and supports were turned on.

Make sure that the locking mechanism must be on the top while printing. Happy 3d-Printing!
