Derpy the Spirit Tiger
It’s Derpy! This cutie patootie was a request from my son for his birthday. There’s a few different options for printing Derpy: Multicolor Derpy, multicolor Derpy with parts for eyes and nose, single color, and single color with parts for eyes and nose.
Changing colors to suit your preferences is super easy by using the paint bucket and fill with “connected same color” selected.
Full Disclosure: This is my first time working with parts. There is a file for Derpy’s head ONLY. This is for you to use to check tolerances for his eyes/nose before committing to the multicolor file with parts.
I’d suggest a brim for his eyes and using adaptive layering to get a smoother appearance. I use a little gorilla glue and let dry to secure the parts. When I’m painting eyes vs printing them, I use dotting tools to add eye shines by using a larger dot for the central eye shine and a smaller dot for the outer. You can find dotting tools on Amazon.
And lastly, Derpy is a fan art model. Have fun printing him for yourself, friends, or to give away, but remember this is fan art and intended for personal use only.
Print Settings that I use: 0.4 nozzle Layer Height: 0.18 Walls: 3 Infill: 10%, gyroid
Brim on eyes if printing parts & adaptive layer height for smoother appearance
Multicolor Derpy has been tested down to 80%. Parts Derpy only at 100%. His nose is pretty tiny at 100%, I don’t think going smaller will be a fun experience, you’re welcome to prove me wrong.
