Mime Mask by Perihelion Prints

The history of mime art is fascinating, arising from the theatrical tradition of ancient Greece, and being adopted and adapted by the Romans over the centuries. Eventually it became a part of European theatre in general, but it would take a pioneering artist to transform it into a form recognizable to modern audiences.

The Czech-born Jean Gaspard Deburau was a performer who found a way to synthesize the Italian version of pantomime with the theatre culture of 17th century France, introducing the character "Pierrot" to Parisian theatre-goers. From there actors like Paul Legrand would refine the archetypal character, bringing it fairly close to the modern version.

Contemporary mime art is also inspired by similar traditions from other cultures, most specifically Japanese Noh theatre which influenced modern artists like Jacques Copeau.

General hallmarks of pantomime performances include silence, precise body language, and the abstraction of complex (and/or comedic) situations into exaggerated movements.

For assembly, start by printing the mask frame. Recommended to print flat, with "snug" supports. See reference image.

This mask is designed to run quite large, in an attempt to cover the majority of faces. Although you may want to do a test print and scale it if you're going for more of a snug fit.

Once the frame is printed, you will need some fabric, and some way to attach it. Tulle fabric is recommended, and you can layer it up to strike a balance between coverage and visibility.

A helpful strategy is to do one half of the mask at a time. Cut out a strip of whatever fabric you want to use, layer it up at this time if you'd like, and place magnets at key points on the frame, on the inside and outside. Note: If you're layering the fabric, keep track of how many layers you are applying so you can keep it consistent on the other half of the mask.

Don't worry about cutting it exactly to fit, in fact you'll want a bit more than you'll need, as you can easily cut off excess later.

Refer to the assembly pictures for reference. Take care to brush out as many wrinkles and folds in the fabric as possible at this time, since you're about to make it permanent. It doesn't have to be perfect, though, just keep in mind the look you're trying to achieve. Be patient at this stage, and work methodically to avoid gaps or creases.

Once you're happy with the position of the fabric, you can attach it with the method of your choice. Hot glue works quite well if you're careful not to make a mess or burn yourself in the process.

Once the glue is set and one half of the fabric is attached, cut off the excess, using the border of the mask to hide any edges of the fabric.

Repeat this process for the other half of the mask, install some sort of ribbon or cord, and voila!

For multi-colour support, the mask is separated into the base and the eyes. You can print them separately and glue them together later, although they may be a tight/imperfect fit.

However, if you import both separate STLs into your slicer at the same time, provided you have a printer that supports multi-colour printing (like a multi-nozzle machine, or one with a tool-changer or MMU) it should let you group both parts into one assembly. From there, you can select which part should print with which colour, as shown in the preview images.

The eclipse represents a deviation from the supposed natural order of things. An unanticipated break from the sacred cycle of day and night. A look behind the veil separating light and shadow.

To don this mask is to seek to recapture and shroud oneself with that sense of mystery. To embrace the unknown, and to become it.

Measure how much ribbon you'll need to go around your head, then add a bit more and cut two equal halves. Become a real life anime character, by donning one of this set of 20 unique anime character face masks by Perihelion Prints.

These masks are somewhere between a 2.5D Mask (inspired by https://www.tumblr.com/2-5dmask) and a full kigurumi mask. Designed to offer full face coverage without the challenge of a full head mask. Perfect for (mildly-unsettling) anime character cosplay, a photoshoot, or as part of a performance costume.

All masks include eye holes, most in the middle of the mask's eyes. These can remain as-is, or you could glue a small piece of thin see-through fabric to the mask to cover them from the inside. If you find the visibility too restrictive, you could modify the file to enlarge the eye hole or open up the eye cavity fully. Feel free to reach out for help with alterations to the design.

Based on Makomo's mask from the anime/manga series Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, this set of 12 kitsune masks are suitable as part of a costume or for display.

When worn for a costume, they are scaled to cover your entire face, or sit on top of your head as shown. Feel free to accessorize with ribbons, tassels, etc.

The set includes 6 designs with flowers, and 6 designs without flowers in the bottom-left corner. The designs with flowers have them embossed, so they should be visible without painting. Otherwise you can decorate them to your heart's content.

If you cannot fit it all on the print bed at once (always ideal if you can print in one piece) slicers like PrusaSlicer have the ability to cut the model in pieces for you, so you can print them separately and glue them together later. It may not seem ideal, but especially if you're painting the model after printing, the seam may not be that visible. But cutting the model and being able to print it upright instead of on an angle may save you ~10h of print time, as shown above.

Makomo's Kitsune Mask - Inspired by Demon Slayer

Moretta/Servetta Muta - Venetian Masquerade Mask by Perihelion Prints.

The moretta is a traditional masquerade mask popular among Venetian and Parisian women in the 17th-18th centuries. Exclusively worn by women, this featureless mask conceals the wearer's identity while covering as little of their face as possible, lending an air of seduction and mystery to the visage behind it.

In addition, the moretta was traditionally strapless, relying on the wearer to hold it in place by biting on an internal clasp. Thus, it gained the moniker servetta muta (mute servant woman), as it rendered its wearer mute.

This modern reinterpretation of the moretta has holes for the attachment of a ribbon or cord, and is slightly bigger than its historical counterpart, for greater comfort and versatility.
