This lamp holds an Alexa Echo Dot smart speaker in its base. The lamp base acts as a passive amplifier to the speakers, increasing their volume using 7 horn shaped holes around the base. The Alexa protrudes from the top of the lamp base to allow the buttons to be operated, the microphone to pick up a voice and for the light ring to be seen. The wire is also hidden through the centre of the lamp and comes out the back along with the normal lamp wire. The light bulb and lampshade are held up by a single generatively designed support that allows the Alexa to sit in the middle of the lamp (where the light bulb support normally goes). It also looks really cool and modern whilst having thin enough structural beams to not cause a noticeable shadow from the bulb. The lightbulb uses a normal fitting and so could easily be a smart bulb to be controlled by the Alexa below it. This lamp helps save space on your desk, amplifies the Alexa's volume and looks great! #PDOhomedevice
