Design This design features a simple carabiner with a print in place, live spring lock.

Construction The carabiner is designed as a single object comprising two distinct parts: an outer shell and an 3 inner cores. The shell has a consistent thickness of 4 perimeters (assuming a 0.4mm nozzle) and incorporates 35 degrees capped fillets on all internal and external edges. The cores define the volumes intended for infill.

Slicing, Printing

Basic Print (Quick and Functional): For a simple, functional carabiner, you can directly print the model with standard settings. Note that this method may not showcase the design's aesthetic details or achieve maximum strength.

Enhanced Print (Visually Appealing): For a more visually appealing carabiner, use the following slicer settings: No top or bottom layers. 4 perimeters. Increased infill density (e.g., 60% cubic or gyroid). This option will resemble the examples shown but will not fully utilize the benefits of the internal fillets.

Optimized Print (Strong and Detailed): To fully leverage the design's features, including the internal and external fillets for enhanced strength and reduced stress concentration, use these settings: No top or bottom layers. 4 perimeters. Core Settings: 0 perimeters and an infill density of, for example, 60% gyroid or cubic. This method will yield a strong and aesthetically refined hook. All of these parameters are set in the 3MF file.

General Printing Recommendation: It is generally recommended to print multiple carabiners simultaneously to avoid excessively short layer times, which can impact print quality.
