This is an insert designed to fit the retail version of Earth from Inside-Up Games. It supports premium card sleeves—I use Arcane Tinmen AT-10423. I have also added some card tableau grids (printed in two pieces per player), all of which fit in the retail box with little to no lid lift.

NOTE: You will need a printer that can print at least 253mm x 193mm to print the tableau grid and grid holder pieces. You can print the other pieces on a slightly smaller bed but the grids are an integral part of this insert.

The boxes print best at 0.16 line height (0.4 nozzle) but 0.20 or thicker is fine for everything else. You really want to use 0.16 (or lower) for the boxes with lids as there are some small but steep overhangs that are supported much better by a slightly smaller line height. (Check your slice preview.) No supports are needed if you print at 0.16 or lower.

I printed these with 15% gyroid infill, but you can use 10% infill if you increase the number of top shell layers by one (or if you don't care about slight imperfections in the bottoms of the boxes). PLA/PLA+ works great for all of these.

The number of copies of each model to print is at the end of each file name. The tokens shared by all players have two storage boxes each to allow for easy access by all players. The score pad fits into a notch in one of the two trunk/canopy boxes. The first player and active player tokens have their own slots on the end of the card box that holds the non-Earth cards.

Finally, the lids for all the boxes are friction fit and can be stored on the bottom of their boxes so they don't get lost during play. The tolerances on these can be somewhat tight, but they came out beautifully on my Bambu X1C.

Model specific notes follow:

<code>2x4_card_grid_holder_x1.stl</code> - This keeps all the card grid pieces nicely organized in the box. Print 1 at 0.20 line height.

<code>2x4_card_grid_x10.stl</code> - The tableau grid pieces. Print two per player color (if you care) at 0.20 line height for a total of 10 pieces. I painted the solid bottom half black and printed the thin divider parts in player colors which gives them a nice accent, but this requires either an MMS or pausing printing at layer 5 or 6 to swap filament. These would be fine in pretty much any color and it really isn't necessary to use player colors.

<code>canopy_trunk_box_x2.stl</code> - Holds canopy and trunk pieces, along with the score pad. Print two.

<code>earth_cards_holder_x1.stl</code> - Holds all the Earth cards in a single box that is intended to be placed on the table to hold the cards during play. The angled lip on the bottom raises the box for easier access to the cards during play. The lip was designed to print w/o supports but at thicker line heights you might find print quality suffers on this bit. Print one.

<code>multi_card_holder_x1.stl</code> - Holds all the remaining cards, separated by their kind (Island, Climate, Ecosystem, Fauna, and the solo cards), along with the first player and active player tokens. The compartments have text embossed in the bottom to help identify which cards go where. Print one.

<code>players_tokens_box_x1.stl</code> - This just holds the 5 player tokens for each player. There is quite a bit of extra space in this box. Print one.

<code>soil_box_x2.stl</code> - Holds the 1/5/10 soil tokens. (I printed the tokens designed by Kandyhouse here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5923585) Print two.

<code>sprout_box_x2.stl</code> - Holds the sprout tokens. Print two.


Earth insert for retail version (supports sleeves)

This is an insert designed to fit the "big box" Kickstarter version of Ares Expedition plus all three expansions (Crisis, Discovery, and Foundations) from Fryx Games. It supports the custom TMAE card sleeves offered during the Kickstarter (also sold separately by Fryx Games). It will probably also fit most other premium sleeves, but I've only tested the Fryx sleeves.

NOTE 1: **This insert will NOT hold the extra "crisis-only" project card deck.** It also only has room for two resource trays (upgraded models included in here!) instead of the four that the Kickstarter has. It also does not hold the 5 square phase tokens from the base game (although they can be tossed in the box loose) as I never use those and couldn't be bothered to find a place for them in the insert.

NOTE 2: **You will need a printer that can print 209mm in either the X or Y direction.** The big card holder simply does not lend itself to being split into anything smaller.

The insert pieces fits securely in the bottom of the big Kickstarter box—I can't vouch for any retail versions, and definitely will NOT fit in the original box for the base game. The player boards, game boards, and instructions all fit nicely on top with a little bit of room to spare, but this arrangement still keeps everything where it belongs when stored vertically or even turned upside-down. Please see the photos for how everything fits in the box.

_2023-03-08 Edit_: The `player_parts_box.stl` was rather tight on the cubes due to a miscalculation in my OpenSCAD file. I've adjusted that and this new box should allow for a better fit of the cubes.
Model specific notes follow:

`awards_milestones_oceans.stl` - As the name suggests, this holds the Award, Milestone, and Ocean tokens for the non-Crisis game. This piece has a base larger than the pieces it holds just so it doesn't slide around in the box. I'm not super thrilled with this model, but it does the job. I hope to see some clever remixes of this and the Crisis tokens holder.

`corp_cards_holder.stl` - Holds the corporation cards for the base game plus Discovery expansions, with a separte divider for the 5+ and Crisis-only corporations.

`crisis_cards_holder.stl` - This has many dividers so that you can keep the Tier 0 and player aid cards, 1-player, 2-player, 3-player, 4-player, and Crisis-specific phase cards in separate sections for easier setup.

`crisis_tokens_holder.stl` - Holds the Crisis-specific oceans and Detriment tokens. As with the awards_milestones_oceans.stl model, the base is bigger than strictly needed to keep it from sliding around. Another one I'm not thrilled with and hope to see remixed in some clever way.

`filler_box1.stl` & `filler_box2.stl` - These, as their names suggest, are mostly to fill some holes to keep everything in place. The smaller box holds the clear cubes nicely, and the bigger one can hold other small enhancements (like 3D forest tokens, for example).

`main_tokens_box.stl` - This 209mm long box is meant to hold the base game's tokens: forests (1 & 5), VPs (1 & 3), tag tokens, and the Crisis counter tokens. Just take this box out, pull off the lid and put it on the bottom and plop the whole thing down on the table where everyone can reach.

`player_card_holder.stl` - Stores the players' phase cards (including upgraded phase cards), as well as the "player parts box", described below. Print one of each in colors blue, red, green, yellow, white, and black to match the game's player colors. These are designed to alternate directions when stored in the box to minimize the space they use there.

`player_parts_box.stl` - Stores the players' colored cubes and slides into the slot in the player card holder.

`project_cards_holder.stl` - This has three large bays to hold all the project cards from all the expansions, with a smaller area divided off to hold the 5+ player cards separately. When you're getting ready to play, just lift this out of the box, turn it over so it sits on its risers to tilt the holder, making it easy to draw cards directly from the holder.

`resource_cubes_box.stl` - Print two of these, divide your resource cubes evenly between them. (You can print more if you like, but they won't fit in the box, at least not without raising the lid.)


Ares Expedition plus all expansions insert for Kickstarter "big box" (supports sleeves)

I found that saving the game was an ugly affair with plastic bags that wouldn't fit in the “crew status” piece from EddieCoast's excellent “Sleeving Gods” insert. So I designed—from scratch, but heavily inspired by EdditCoast's model—a small storage board for each character that allows one to store (sleeved!) cards, cardboard tokens, and modified health/command tokens under each character's board. The storage boards can then be stacked and stored in the included three-sided case and kept in the same place as the original “top_crew_status” piece. You do loose the storage for the fatigue, etc. tokens, but there are enough other places those can be stored.

Also, the wooden tokens obviously won't fit, so I made some thin token models that you can print to use when saving the game. (I will still use the wood tokens when playing, but you could also use these during gameplay if you're so inclined. Oh, and the health tokens are provided as two models that allow for multi-color printing if you have that capability, otherwise, just print the first one which will leave the numbers cut out of the token.

Print 9 character boards (`SG_player_save.stl`) with *layer height 0.16 (first layer 0.20)* to get each level the correct height. If you print this at 0.20 layer height these probably won't fit right. (*The tolerances are pretty tight.*)

Print 1 character boards storage box (`SG_player_save_case.stl`). I printed it at a layer height of 0.28 but it should be OK at 0.20. Note that the bottom is quite thin, so check the slicing before printing to make sure it looks reasonable.

Print 1 `command_tokens.stl` with 0.20 layer height.

If you have a multi-color-capable printer, import both `health_tokens_1.stl` and `health_tokens_2.stl` as one object, apply a red filament to `health_tokens_1.stl` and whatever color you like to `health_tokens_2.stl` (the numbers)—I used white.

If you can't easily print multiple colors, just print `health_tokens_1.stl` in red. The numbers are excluded from the drop tokens much like a negative part.

Finally, I've also included the OpenSCAD files I wrote to create these models.

Sleeving Gods character board storage redesign

This is a box insert for the game _Psychic Pizza Deliverers go to the Ghost Town_. It's a one-piece insert because you have to remove everything from the box to play the game. (The box is part of the game.) Also, the insert does not completely fill the box in length or width, but it has a lip on two sides which hold the insert firmly in place when the player boards are added on top. The player boards also keep the slotted pieces in place while the lid is on, so this insert will hold everything in place when stored vertically or even upside down.

The insert is 250mm wide, so you'll need a printer with a fairly large bed, or you'll have to cut it smaller as you see fit. This just barely fits on my Bambu X1C. Also, the tolerances are fairly tight on the slots and the top-most edges, so if your printer isn't very dimensionally accurate you might need to adjust the corresponding values in the .scad file and generate a new .stl file.

Finally, this is not a particularly filament-efficient design at around 300g of PLA+.

This is my very first published Thing, so please forgive any _faux pas_. I've included the OpenSCAD file I used to create this. Feel free to use this for any non-commercial use.
