PS5 Dualsense Travel Case
This is a travel case designed to fit a PS5 Dualsense Controller. The outer shell pieces and hinge can be printed out of any plastic of your choice. The inner case parts and plugs should be printed in TPU or other flexible filament options (I used 7% infill and reduced top and bottom shell thicknesses to achieve my preferred part 'squishyness'). I have not tested with PLA or any other rigid plastic for the inner parts, so it may work but attempt at your own risk. The case was designed with an internal cavity to store a somewhat tightly coiled charging cable along with the controller. This design utilizes 4 magnets (1/2"d x 1/8"t), one in each of the circular holes which is then glued in with a plug to reduce the strength of the magnets when shut (It was very hard to open without them). All additional detailing seen in the included photos (PS logo and lettering) are from negative parts used in Bambu Slicer, The face button symbols on the back are modeled in.
You will need:
- 1x Outer Case Top
- 1x Outer Case Bottom
- 1x Inner Case Top
- 1x Inner Case Bottom (Custom version allows for some extra clearance behind the main controller, in my case, for some aftermarket back buttons)
- 1x Hinge Pin
- 4x Magnet Plugs
- Some adhesive to hold the pin, magnets, and plugs in place. As well as to hold the inner case pieces to the outer case pieces. I just used super glue.
- NO hardware required, everything is printable.
Thanks to @Kabliga on Printables for posting the only (free) dimensionally accurate PS5 controller scan on the internet it seems. I used a low-poly version of his scan to get a start on shaping the inner cavity, here is a link to the original: https://www.printables.com/model/407609
