I had been using two pieces of PVC held together with zip-ties to create a seat riser for my Vibe SeaGhost 130 Kayak.  This arrangement worked well, only having to replace ties once or twice. The PVC arrangement raised the seat 42mm. 

When designing this I wanted the front of the seat to be a little higher than the PVC riser placed it to make sliding a dry box storing camera batteries under the seat easier.  This riser is reversible, allowing me to sit higher (56 mm) for fishing or lower for extended paddling. The low setting is about 6 mm higher than if there is no riser in place. The interior channel is 24 mm to accommodate the seat shaft after removing the end plug.

If requested, I can attempt to make versions with more or less lift. 

(Printed with a Creality Ender 3 v2, my only printer, not the Pro that was available in the profile settings of Thingiverse.)

A family member asked me to print a remote holder from a .stl file downloaded from Thingiverse. I asked what was intended to be put into it and the sizes of the objects. I transferred the .stl to Cura to ensure that the objects would fit. Scaling to get the largest object to fit created a holder too large to be practical. I repeated the process with several other Things and didn't find one suitable. Therefore I went about creating my own.

I have attached the .blend files for any who want to alter the design outside of scaling in their preferred slicer.

This mount is inspired by lilmikey's mount, https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1543145  I created this part from scratch in blender.  (different fish-finder, different kayak) The teeth of the transducer attachment came from a thing by tomdow33 https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3303659  I am fitting this to my nephew's Lifetime Yukon kayak. It will fit into one of the forward scuppers. 

The central hole in the cylinder which goes into the scupper and the nut recess in the top of the cylinder are sized for 1/4 - 20 nuts and bolts. The cutout for the transducer cable is sized for a 6 mm cable.  

I would recommend at least 3 top/bottom layer, probably even 4.  I am testing with 3 wall layers and enabling fill gaps to make the grip legs solid. All versions have been printed on my nephew's Longer LK5 Pro using ABS filament. He used an 0.4mm nozzle. If I print this version on my CE3 V2, I intend to use an 0.6mm nozzle, 0.48mm layer height, 0.6mm line width, and PETG filament.

UPDATE: 5 August 2022   Version 0.5.1 has been printed and seems workable.  Visually, I think adjusting the cylinder forward 2 mm would give a more ideal fit.  We will test this one before making any changes. 

UPDATE:  1 June 2022   I removed outdated files. Changes to create the current file include:  1) moving the cylinder that goes into the scupper further to the rear.  2)  decreased the width of the base. 

UPDATE:  25 May 2022  I removed original file, the grip legs were too close together. The revised files also moved the cylinder that fits in the scupper further from the attachment points to allow easier routing of the transducer cable.  The loaded files differ in how I completed the blender file. In the 0.3.2 file I merged all parts before exporting the .stl 

Transducer scupper mount for Humminbird Piranha (WIP - Testing)

I was asked by my nephew to help mount a rudder on his Lifetime Yukon kayak.  The stern is not flat and has no built in mount point.  Working with the bracket he ordered from Amazon I made measurements to design a shim in Blender that would set the bracket flush to the stern. The bracket and shim will be attached with 1/4 x 20 stainless steel bolts to well nuts (expansion nuts) placed inside the hull.

Printing:

Having recently acquired my printer, I only have PLA and PETG filament on hand.  I chose to print with PETG due to the constant exposure to water. Most of the Cura settings were left at default, unless I have changed then and forgotten. The infill is fairly low at 20% but bulked up with the line multiplier of 2. When permanently mounted I will assess and test to see if I must reprint at higher infill. 

Full print with 2x4x4 walls/top/bottom and 20% infil came to about 4g in weight.
