use the spare screws your printer came with for mounting (m3) 
you need a m4 screw for the adjustment 
Set the height of the pen with your Z axis at 1 and then plot at a Z height of 0.5-0.9 this way you can home and bed level without removing the pen 
It works best with sharpies
