This is the remake of my previous cat collar.
UPDATE OCT 2023: Added an STL file with blank collar (no name on it; emboss yourself or use a sharpie :)
Re-designed after extensive field trials by Alice - my adventurous outdoor-access black cat.
Collar length is Ok for a smaller cat; you may need to fiddle with it a bit if you need a longer one (given that your 3D printer is capable of handling the size you need).
This version features cleaner design, better shape and the latch that is easier to undo but doesn't come undone accidentally.
It is still a breakaway collar, which means that your cat won't strangle itself if the collar catches on something. In this case cat's desperate effort is enough to tear the collar and free itself. The breakaway perforation is hidden under the latch, therefore the collar maintains its comfortable oval shape.
To reduce the risk of the collar getting caught in the bush make sure to measure your cat's neck and adjust the model length. The included model is good for the neck of a slim cat; if yours is bulkier, you will need to elongate the collar before printing. Read how snug the collar should be - there are lots of info on that.
Always print one extra collar and tear it by hand to make sure it tears with moderate force your cat can develop in distress.
Emboss any text/logo you wish. This model prints very well with 0.2 mm layers and 0.2 mm emboss height. It's just about 1 gram and your cat will hardly notice it.
