Inspired by Multiboard! So excited to see where this system takes us! Already planning to overhaul my work from home setup with a clamp-on desk multiboard.
I wanted to hang a multi-board off of the side of my p1s, and I couldn't find a bracket to help me do so. It wedges pretty snugly between the glass and the lip on the wall of my P1S, which may be a bit thicker than the aluminum wall of the X1C.
If this is the case, someone please let me know and I can make and adjustment if someone doesn't end up remixing it themselves :)
This clip works with the Small dual command strip: https://thangs.com/designer/Keep%20Making/3d-model/Vertical%20Dual%20Snaps%20%28DS%20Part%20A%29%20-%20Small%20Command%20Strip%20Mount-1112075
To stabilize the board a bit, I also adjusted the thickness to work with these 15mm offset pegs to go behind the board against the wall: https://thangs.com/designer/Keep%2520Making/3d-model/15%2520mm%2520Offset%2520Peg-974334
For the best stability, hanging heavier items toward the bottom is ideal.
I haven't done any long term strength testing yet but it held a 10 pound load attached very close to the bottom of the board for a whole work day today. You could print with heavy infill for more stability but currently the 25% gyroid infill should be plenty of strength. In the end, the very thin lip will be the weak point, which I am going to eliminate with the riser version of the clips.
This is the very first public version of this design, but I plan to make some improvements, including a remix of the pegs to include magnet mounting pockets to stabilize the boards better (through the wall for P1S and to the wall for X1C), as well as an LED riser for the glass panel that has room for a couple of these clips on each side, allowing for 2 full size ~14x17 multi-boards on each side of your printer.
It's a liiiittle bit of a tight fit but doesn't seems to be pushing on anything too hard. Just only works on one side in its current configuration.
Please leave feedback, comments, and questions so I can improve this and future designs. Thanks for downloading and happy printing!
