This is a simple modification of the original design. Originally it was a bit to tight inside to get all the wires ran and close the front door so I added an inch to the depth of the whole thing and made the hole on the top an inch wider. Now there is plenty of room for all the wires and air to move around.

I took the screw holes out and opened the receiving collar so the hing moves more freely. Also the files with rev in the name are already reversed. The files with the word offset in them have a 3mm offset in the base so you can mount a door with an overlap.

Using some 2" pvc tube and two of these encaps and two doughnuts and a 10mm cross laser pointer you now have a good alignment jig for an 80mm laser tube.

I was originally going to cut the Printrbot Spool Stand but it was nowhere close to what I wanted. They are using clip in wood parts to hold the bearings and the bearing are not supported from the inside. Also it doesn't fit 8" spools like the ones Makerbot uses. So this will hold 8" full spools and fully support the weight and spin freely. It also prevents the spool from sliding off and jamming. Another nice feature is that you can tie multiple units side by side without the spools touching. Perfect for multiextrusion or just holding all of your filaments ready to feed into your printer.

Yet Another Spool Holder Laser Cut

Easily the largest single piece I've every cut on my laser cutter. Each side is 36" by 36" and it's 26" wide on the inside. With 9 rollers made out of 2" PVC I can now easily dispense out my giant 24" wide rolls of packing material for shipping.

You will need the following:
Print 18 of the rollers.
9 - 25.75" PVC pipe 2" in diameter.
18 - 608 bearings.
18 - 1.5" 5/16 bolts and nuts
36 - 5/16 washers
20 - 1" drywall screws

2 pieces of 36"x36" 1/2 plywood

I wanted to raise up the spool holder a few inches to accommodate the larger 12" spools and still use the top plate of my enclosure. Instead designing the wheel and to save plastic I made these little feet to raise up the spool holder by 2". More than enough. I put room for drop in nuts and bolts and pass thrus for zip ties so it attaches easily. Just print 4 of them.
