Heavy Duty Drawer Slides
I'm happy with these now.
Edit 4-16-2025 7:27EST - Added Outer slides with extra height to clear Frameless hinges with ¾ thick cabinet doors.
Edit 4-17-2025 8:51 EST - Changed 3mf file to only have one outer slide per design. Printing 2x per plate caused the bed to pull up again overnight.
UPDATE 4-19-2025 5:15 - With the newest version out, I was able to get a 24 inch drawer built and mounted and I'm happy to report that it works! I was struggling until I lubed the slides a bit. (Don't judge me, but i used Vaseline brand Lip balm) Its petroleum jelly with some scent, but it worked fantastically. I will likely remove the inner slides without the extra clearance from the profile I don't think they have enough play to allow for inconsistencies in build squareness.
Edit 4-22-2025 9:20 EST Added the “Final” project file. Removed the inner slides without the extra clearance, the dont offer any advantage over the other ones and the extra clearance slides should cover all use cases for the originals. I have also moved the inner slides to only have 2 per plate. I printed a single one and it pulled the plate up in the corners when it cooled. That should be less of a chance to cuase warpage.
No Changes to the models themselves.
Lube the slides, Lube the slides, **LUBE THE SLIDES **
I wanted to design a simple drawer slide for a pull out drawer in my entertainment center.
I printed them in PETG, because I think that PETG slides better against itself. Printed in the orientation provided allows the layer lines to be parallel to the objects and minimizes any friction between the pieces.
I recommend printing the outer slides rotated on the plate 45 degrees as well. I printed all 4 pieces on the plate at 90 degrees and they pulled the plate up, causing tolerance issues and were almost non functional. Print only one per plate
The Rear inner slides are different than the front slides and have a section of the top that is not removed, so that it contacts the drawer stop pins and prevents the drawers from coming completely out. The pins can be removed for easy removal and installation.
The left and right Rear inner slides are the only parts that aren't identical. They are mirrored versions for left and right side installation.
