A rotating fidget toy.
It's also kind of a tolerance test. You may need a very well-calibrated printer.
Tested on a Bambulab X1-Carbon
Instructions:
-
Print in PETG! PLA will be too brittle and will break.
-
Select the option to print infill first in your slicer to take out a ton of post-processing.
-
Print!
-
Clean up stringing with a lighter or heat gun.
-
Allign both parts perfectly up and down. Don't angle them!
-
Press both pieces together until they snap into place.
-
Attempt to rotate them against each other.
If they rotate:
- Continue turning until it turns freely. If it doesn't, proceed to step 8 in the "don't-rotate section."
- Enjoy.
If they don't rotate:
- Pull the pieces back apart
- On the Piece with the protruding ring, take some sandpaper or a razor blade and trim down the bottom of the nubs.
- Repeat 7-10 until functional.
- Enjoy.
If it breaks:
Reprint, but this time in PETG or ABS. (ABS not tested on my printers)
