The distal phalanx is the end of the line. In certain gripping operations, it's just the last of the phalanges where the tendons are terminated, but in others, it's the critical element in creating a firm grasp. To this end, two models are included, a base model that's suited to general purpose use, and a skeletal model with an additional hole and hollow body to facilitate the use of purpose specific augments.
