These planters were modeled to be printed in vase mode.  If you print them as is you will waste a lot of filament!

If you want more than 1 perimeter, instead of using vase mode you can use 0% infill and 0 top layers, then just choose how many perimeters you want.  It won’t technically print the same way as vase mode (a continuous line), but will still get the job done!

Zig Zag Planters (4 variations)

I have only printed these in resin, although they would probably print in FDM just fine with either a small enough nozzle or if scaled up a little bit.

For resin printing, I just print them standing straight up with some supports going about halfway up the outer rim of the coin.

I have included a split in half version if you would like to print them FDM.  I would just suggest scaling them up because the small details will struggle through most normal-sized nozzles. 

**Post Processing:**

For these coins, I basically follow a 4 step process:
Clean Up - Light sanding over the support scars with 220 grit sandpaper then clean off well.
Paint - I use Rustoleum Bright Coat Metallic Gold Spray paint, 2-3 coats is more than enough for these.
Weather - Some watered down acrylic black paint directly into the cracks and crevices, then wiped off with a paper towel until I like the level of weathering.
Clearcoat- I use Rustoleum 2X Matte Clear Coat to finish, although I’m currently looking for something that dries a little “harder.”

Bitcoin (2 sided and split in half)

This is a model I made somewhat quickly but plan on making a major upgrade before the holidays this year.  Specifically I want to make it larger and more functional for LED strips.  

The tree star prints in 12 pieces and comes together with no adhesives needed.  It is designed for the center shaft to route through the star pieces, with printed “washers” between each star to keep spacing.  The stars can then revolve freely around the center shaft.  The shaft then fits into the connector that goes on top of the tree.

I routed some fairy lights around mine, but one of the main things I want to improve upon this year is to make it bigger and add some channels for the lighting to route through.

Christmas Tree Star

This model is printed in 4 pieces and the Plunger is designed to work with flexible filaments.  There are 4 files to print: the Plunger, Base, and Nozzle, and Rocket.  The Plunger HAS to be printed in flexible filament (I used Flexible PLA by Ataraxia Arts), and I would recommend printing the rocket in flexible as well so it doesn't break or cause damage.

**Printing, Assembly & Post Processing**
									
**FDM or Resin:** FDM 		
**Scaling:** Scalilng up should be fine, scaling down may affect the threads for the nozzle.
**Supports:** No supports
**Nozzle Size I Used:** 0.4			
**Infill/Perimeters:** 3 Perimeters on the Plunger!  For the other pieces, I used 2 perimeters and 10% infill.
**Layer Height:** I used 0.2 layer height.  Would probably be fine to use a high layer height (except plunger).

2/11/2022: Initial Upload	
	
- To test this model I used Ataraxia Flexible PLA on both the Plunger (necessary) and the Rocket (help it not break but not NECESSARY)	
- I designed the plunger to be printed with 3 walls on a 0.4 nozzle (the walls are 1.2 mm thick so if you use a 0.6 nozzle you can use 2 walls)	
- At the time of writing this, I am redesigining our own rocket but for now you need to download the rocket from the provided link above on thingiverse!

- I have designed uploaded my own rocket for the design so its no longer necessary to use the one from Thingiverse.	
- My rocket design has a sharper pointed tip so it should fly a little bit better.

Stomp Rocket (Flexible Plunger)

I designed this model as a filament swatch, but also as a test to make sure I have my filament dialed in well before attempting to print more complex models.

**3D Printer Setting Used:**
Printing Orientation:

The two lids were designed to have the open side facing the build plate (the only way to get the details on the top :/ ), so you will need supports on both sides.  I would highly suggest tree supports, I haven’t had any issues removing mine.  


For the main body, print with the sd card sides facing up.  You shouldn’t need any supports for the secret storage area, although they may be helpful if your bridging isn’t great. 

Infill
You should be fine with standard 10-15% infill max and it will be plenty strong.  

Layer Height:
I have only tested this model with a 0.2 layer height and am unsure of how the threads would print with a higher layer height, so attempt at your own risk!

Knurled Fidget Bolt Keychain

This design prints in 3 separate pieces: The bolt, the cap, and the spinner. I included 2 versions of the bolt, a shorter version and a longer version. The cap and spinner work for either.

-The bolt is hollowed to allow the storage of "hand-rolled cigarettes" or a little bit of cash.
-The cap is reverse-threaded to avoid losing it from the action of the spinner, and to make getting into the "hidden" storage a little less obvious.
-Mix and match colors to make your perfect fidget bolt.

Here are the 3d printing settings I used:
No Supports
Nozzle Size: I have tested these with 0.4 and 0.6 size nozzles and they print great. I don't know about anything bigger.
Layer height: The lower the layer height the smoother it will be, but I print them at 0.20 and they work great.
Scaling: I haven't tried printing it at different scales, but I wouldn't scale down too much or the clearances may have issues. Scaling up should be ok.

The Christmas Tree Ornament

Prints in 9 separate pieces flat on the build plate and assembles afterwards, great for hanging on the tree or as general Christmas décor.

Approximate print time is 2.5-3.5 hours depending on print settings. No supports needed.

After printing, just slide the flakes up onto the center shaft in order of smallest to biggest, with the base going on last. When the flake your installing has passed the peg on the center shaft, just rotate and slide down to lock it into place. You can feel free to use a dab of super glue at the joints if you want it to stay together better.
