Another file to celebrate Andor and its the wearable K2SO helmet!

This helmet is fully wearable and fits a standard 256x256x256mm print bed or larger. At its base scale, it fits around a 23" head and will need to be pieced together like 3CPO onto your head using 8x2mm magnets.

There are 2 versions of eyes, with and without pupils. Both are notched to prevent spinning when in place for easier assembly and are easily visible out of. If you want to add lights and still see, we'd recommend flexible mesh LEDs that can be found on Amazon.

We are wanting to bring more droids to life in this way so if you have any suggestions, we want to hear them!

I love this helmet but there is a flaw that I am hoping you can address. The lower part of the helmet that slides forward from the back of the head and attaches to the mouth is too thin in certain areas. On the outside of the helmet that area is the channel that runs all the way around the helmet. It looks great. However, on the inside of the helmet that channel is not flush with the rest of the inside of the helmet causing structural issues that will allow that part to easily break.

Hello! While we personally have not had an issue with that region, I can see that being a spot of concern. We will look into it.

Thank you!

And thank you for looking into it! I am printing a 4th now and changing the orientation vertically to alter line direction to see if that helps with stability.

Hey. I printed it 3 times. Two on my Prusa XL and one on my QP4. I did two with PLA and one with PETG-CF. All were very weak and broke. I did 15% infill on the first one and 50% infill on the last 2 just to check. If I hold the last one up to a light source I can actually see light through the seam. Maybe it is the scaling. Since I am printing it for my son I scaled it down to 91%. It shouldn't cause this issue going down but going up I can see it being an issue. I printed all 3 of them flat.
