Introducing SMARS V4!
The SMARS V4 is finally here, bringing some exciting new features:
- A top-closed battery case
- An RGB LED frame
- A power switch
- A new wheel design

Two Configurations for V4:

V4_a (Arduino Nano-based):
This version offers a compact, embedded design with no exposed electronic parts. It’s ideal if you plan to use your SMARS for a single purpose (like an RC car). V4_a is also designed to accommodate Bluetooth or Wi-Fi modules, making it perfect for remote applications. -
V4_b (Arduino UNO-based):
This version is more flexible, allowing for easy modifications. It’s practical if you plan to frequently change the robot’s purpose. Connections are simpler, and uploading sketches doesn’t require any disassembly.
Documentation:
In the "documentation" folder, you’ll find assembly instructions and connection diagrams for both versions. To add Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, simply connect the module to Pin 0, Pin 1, 5V, and GND. There are many tutorials available online—just search for your module's name for more information.
Why is this version not free?
- Primarily aesthetic upgrades: While SMARS V4 offers some great new features, SMARS V1 can still perform the same basic functions. Not purchasing V4 won’t limit your capabilities.
- Respect for the creator: I’ve discovered that some people are selling my designs without permission, which is disheartening. I’ve invested countless hours into creating SMARS, and seeing people disrespect my licenses hurts.
- Affiliate support: Unfortunately, not enough people are using my affiliate links, which impacts my ability to fund and improve the project.
I hope you understand. While I’ll continue to share most of my designs for free, sometimes I’ll release paid versions to help keep my projects going.
