Thanks to your Thangs subscription, I can continue designing these cars. As the community grows, I'll be able to take on new challenges and bring you increasingly detailed models. Plus, you'll be able to download a new design for free every 15 days.

✅ STL files for the body & wheels ✅ Chitubox file pre-supported!

Important: A hand drill with a fine bit and sandpaper is required to adjust the pieces. This is because some resins tend to expand slightly.

I’m really excited to share with you my latest 3D design of the legendary Mazda 787B, a car that made its mark in motorsport history as the only rotary engine car to win the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1991. This model, in particular, is an original version with a special twist: it’s caricatured, meaning its length is slightly shortened. Despite this, it maintains impressive accuracy in its proportions, making it a unique and dynamic representation of the 787B.

This design is optimized for 3D printing, focusing on convenience and ease of assembly. That’s why the model comes divided into several separate parts to ensure each detail prints perfectly:

  • Body
  • Tires
  • Rims
  • Front wheel covers
  • Spoiler
  • Mirrors

This segmentation not only makes printing easier but also ensures you can assemble it smoothly afterward. Additionally, for those looking for hassle-free printing, I’ve included a pre-supported Chitubox file, which is the same one I used to print the sample unit shown in the photos.

As an interesting fact, the Mazda 787B is known for its distinctive four-rotor Wankel rotary engine. This engine produced such a unique and high-pitched sound that motorsport fans described it as the "scream" of Le Mans. Although the competition rules changed shortly after its victory, preventing rotary engines from racing again, the 787B earned its place in history and in the hearts of enthusiasts.

This 3D model is my tribute to that motorsport legend. I’m sure you’ll enjoy printing it as much as I enjoyed designing it.

PRINTING PARAMETERS:

It is possible that the assembly of the car may require the use of a file, sandpaper or small drill bit to make the parts fit together correctly.

The example model has been printed aprox. at 7cm long, although larger models can be made if desired.
