Hey, this is a re-upload. The old version had the wrong texture map and I could not fix it, so here is a re-upload with fixed textures.
This is a Mars Lithopane for you to remix. It's based on actual NASA imagery. If you need a different size check my page out I also have diameters 75 mm, 100 mm, 125 mm, 150 mm, 175 mm, 200 mm, 225, mm and 250 mm on there. It's designed for an FDM printer with a 0.4 mm nozzle. You may be able to print this with bigger nozzles, if you use the layer height and width i recommend. Print settings: Domes are quite hard to print. I never printed this as a whole, I always cut it into pieces first. Layer Height 0.2 mm Layer Width 0.4 mm No supports. I always decrease the speed at the top of the dome (when the bridging occurs) to 50%. You can do this in Cura using the extension post-processing. I use standard white PLA for these. If you are unsure if your filament works, just shine through the walls of the print with your phone lamp at something like 10% print completion. You should see the Lithophane effect.
Remember to add me when you remix this, I'm eager to see what you do with this. I made some ready to print lamps with this, you can check them out at my site.
If you used this, please consider buying me a coffee at https://www.buymeacoffee.com/Ri0m0 I'm a poor student in need of filament.
