Hey,
this is one of my oiginal creations. Is a Variation of the Brain Gear. It transforms from a Sphere into a Rhombic Dodecahedron.
You need:
12 Pieces
24 Pins
6 Connectors
You can also just print the "All" File, it has everything you need
Print Settings:
The Pieces/Gears could need a brim. No supports.
Assembly:
I made a Video about that. https://youtu.be/J1hegteR_NM
There is also a Assembly PDF included in the download.
Troubleshooting:
To tight.
If the standard Connector is too tight, print one of the other connectors provided. The higher you go, the more loose everything should become. But there is also too loose when the gears stop engaging properly.
Super fun print! I scaled it up to 135% and used a red/blue dual color silk from R3D. I had some filament twisting during the print so it's not perfect.
A note to the creator, please put a note about the multi color tower in the description above. I didn't know about it until after printing everything and you mention it in the assembly video which is to late at that point.
If you intend on scaling it up, be aware that the tolerances don't play super well. It has obviously been optimized for the normal scale because it gets a bit lopsided at the larger scale. Still super cool though!
Also, if you're having trouble with assembly, make sure you have place the round vs sharp hubs in the correct spots.
Dual color filament was easy to align thanks to the video and cylinder. Great design! I had to modify the brim gap to 0.05 so that the tall pieces wouldn't tip over but then it was fine.
Ruven that is absolutely stunning 😃 what an awesome job you did !!
Ty :D
OMG... IT'S AMAZING AND BEAUTIFUL 😍
