Note that a test file is included. I recommend you print that before the entire candy cane to ensure your printer can complete the model; if the joints fuse together, try a smaller layerheight. Allow the model to cool entirely before rotating the joints; they should break loose and become smoother as they are worn in.
Even if you are not printing the model in dual color, load both the Candy Cane 1 and 2 models as one model with multiple parts into your slicer.
