Magnetic friendship cake charms! These super adorable cake charms come in different slice sizes, which create the whole cake when put together! There is an 8 slice cake, 4 slice cake, 3 slice cake, and 2 slice cake!

These cake charms can be printed with any printer! The multi-color version gives the cake an inside, with cake and strawberries in the middle! I highly recommend you use the .3mf file for this print as I had to change some of the color painting for the printer to bridge on top of the magnets properly. This print will be paused mid-print to be able to imbed a 6x3mm magnet into each cake. These magnets will have to be super glued into the print when it is paused unless the nozzle of your printer is NOT magnetic!

Tips for gluing the magnets into the print:

As someone who was not super familiar with gluing and imbedding magnets into prints, doing it for this project was no easy task! Therefore, I have oriented the cakes in the .3mf files to provide the optimal visual cue for gluing the magnets in. The most important part to gluing the magnets into the cake is to make sure each magnet 'pair' have opposite poles, meaning they are attracted to each other. Personally, I would take my stick of magnets, take two off, and then split them. I would then remember which side would attract which and then glue them in their corresponding cake pair.

I have also tried 'practicing' my magnet placement by printing the cakes in a single color, stopping the print at the pause, and placing my magnets into the cake without gluing them down. I would just practice how I would orient and glue the magnets into the cakes. With this trick once you are done you can break the cakes off the plate and see if you placed the magnets in the correct orientation. You can visually see how the cakes magnetize to each other.

As usual, I use orca slicer to set up my .3mf files so please let me know if there are any issues with the print profile or the slicer you are using! If there is any demand, I also have individual .stl files available, although each individual component of each object in the .3mf file should be able to be individually downloaded through the slicer.

Happy Printing! <3
