April Reporting In

Hey there, Thangs fam!

Hope everyone had a very merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

It might not be April on the calendar, but it’s April time here at Pixel and Plastic!

We’re thrilled to share our take on April O'Neil, a character who’s a smidge taller than the turtles and just as iconic. She was a bit of a challenge, taking quite a bit of time to get right, but we’re proud of the result. Our goal was to stay true to her original cartoon look while striking a balance across her many iterations in that series! We hope our April captures the character and meets the standard of her classic cartoon roots.

Also, we have released our Lantern for PirateLife - Pixel and Plastic Members will find it available in the downloads, but if you would like to support that design line further you can sign up here: https://thangs.com/piratelife. - This model can be assembled with out glue, and can be scaled to 50% and STILL work with a Flameless Tea Light We have also created a couple of covers, including a cursed Skeleton - named Captain Diggs "Rattle Jack" John (more on him in a later update) on the PirateLife channel - and some characters on the PixelandPlastic so be sure to let me know if you would like to see more of those in the Discord.

As we kick off the new year, we are really trying to push our game development side back into full action, and that means even more toys! So every ounce of support for Pixel and Plastic really helps everything grow.

If you're new here, a little background. I am a game developer first. I have been developing games for about 14 years now until we decided to go against the grain and not make ads and in-app purchases the source of monetization. Instead, we are making toys. Pixel and Plastic is the ground work for that. We will be launching a new website this year to explain all of that or, you can come hang out with me, and other designers in the Fireside Buzz Discord. Designers, makers, collectors, and enthusiasts are all welcome! Hang out and have some fun creating things!
We have many new developments such as the Shipwright Stream where we are building Pirate Ships piece by piece on stream. I'm designing these to eventually be 3d printed, but in a similar fashion to the rest of the PirateLife series be modular and customizable. If you are new to Discord, discord is an app that not only allows us to chat and have conversations but gives our community a space we can collaborate and hang out in voice chats were we can stream what we are working on and chat with everyone live. Actually chat, not like a stream, but real conversation where we can answer questions and just hang out. So come join us!
