I've pre-exported a few configurations for your convenience but the intent is to customize the file to your needs.

Please see the attached F360 file and PDF outlining the variable details for how to alter the model to your liking. 

Some of the photos are of earlier designs that are slightly different to this latest design, but the functionality is the same.

This is a remixed version of the awesome print in place iris box made by LoboCNC. 
After seeing the amazing looking westworld control unit housing done by ThaRev (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2984003), I decided it just wouldn't be complete without a functioning Iris box for the top. Thanks to the solidworks file provided by LoboCNC I was able to aesthetically alter his iris box to look like the control unit and to have it be perfectly usable with the rest of ThaRev's original files. Simply download ThaRev's files and print this instead of his supplied "Westworld Control Unit Upper". 

NOTE You may need to slightly scale down the diameter and length of the pins he supplies

I also bumped up some clearances to allow a wider range of printers to be able to handle the print successfully, see print settings for detailed instructions.  

Westworld Control Unit Housing_Working Iris Box

This is a fun and functional storage box/ presentation box for 15mm diameter glass vials. 
As the lid of the box opens, the vials will be raised up out of their holder for a great presentation.

PLEASE READ:
There are 2 versions of this print, one is the "original" and the other is the "Updated" version. 
I have only printed the original version of this design and can prove it works. I then made some improvements on the "Updated" version but have yet to print that version for myself so there may be issues I'm unaware of. 
The updated version has a larger lip to support the inner holder for added stability, as well as screw holes to positively lock the holder in place.

The Vials:
I purchase mine from a local science surplus store so I can't link to an exact version. The vials measure approximately 15mm in diameter and 57.3 mm tall including the lid. You will need to adjust the CAD files to accommodate different sized vials. 
If your vials are simply shorter or taller than what I used, you can simply modify the height of the pusher accordingly.

GENERAL UPDATE 1 11/10/18:

I've included a file for a small fixturing jig you can use to ensure that your stock is positioned square relative to your buildplate. 

I have also noticed some potential dangers associated with this set up. There are times where you will tell the machine to abort the current code, and depending on what the previous line of code sent is, the machine will sometimes continue in a particular direction without halting. In these moments, you MUST kill power to the control box itself.

This is an accessory mount that allows you to attach a Dremel flex shaft to your CR-10 to convert it into a CNC router. This is designed to only work with the dremel 225-01 flex shaft, though others may fit the mount as well.

CNC Router (Dremel) Upgrade for CR-10

This is a small indicator to show what diameter nozzle is currently installed in a given machine. It has a flex mount that is intended to fit perfectly into Vslot extrusions. The indicator flags then can be easily slipped in and out of the flex mount. I have also included the fusion 360 files as well so feel free to modify to meet your needs. 
This is perfect for makerspaces where you have multiple machines and multiple users who may not be aware the nozzle had been changed.


The Flex Insert is meant to be printed from TPU. I have not tested PLA for this purpose and would not recommend it.
