Hour by Hour
Have you ever wanted a piece of furniture that looks like multiple hour glasses stacked on top of each other? Have you ever wanted a night stand that represents all the hours you spend trying to fall asleep? Have you ever wanted a side table that represents all the hours you spent scrolling on your phone? Do you want that furniture to be cheaper than Amazon?
Then this piece of furniture is for you!
This night stand has a compact area which not only decreases the amount of space it takes up, but also forces you to be conscious about what you have next to you.
The bottom portion of this night stand has a compartment that allows you to add weight into the bottom to prevent the table from being top heavy. You can use whatever you have around the house. Uncooked rice, playdough, clay, bearings, hardware that you "know your going to need one day..." anything that can fit, works! The picture shows approximately 3 lbs of modeling clay with plenty of room to add more. After the print is completed, just unscrew the bottom tray and start adding the weight! Since this model lets you unscrew and screw the weighted tray back in, you can always change the weight instead of making semi-educated guesses on how much to put in.
Using 2 perimeter walls and 5% gyroid infill will ensure your table is strong enough to hold a 25lb dumbbell. Which means it is plenty strong enough for your drink and phone. The amount of filament used with these settings is around 800 grams making this night stand/ side table cheaper than amazon!
Just print the top, middle, and bottom portions as well as 2 connectors and you are good to go!
The model pictured was printed with Overture Rock PLA filament in the color Jarrah.
