This is not just a simple party hat. This is party hat PRO with detachable led holder and three different sexy diffuser tops, guaranteed to make you the lighthouse of the party! And when you are finally bored of wearing the hat, you can detach the led holder and use it as a lovely table decoration for the rest of the night!
Printing No supports needed for any parts. For one party hat, you need to print at least the main body and led holder. But to make it really spiffy, print one of the diffusers (or all, you can easily switch between them)!
Main body - If you want to make it your own, you can easily customize this with PrusaSlicer alpha's text tool. See the submitted image for example. Led holder - Best printed with little to nothing infill or lightning infill, you don't need a heavy thing wobbling on your head. Led diffusers - Print with clear or translucent filament. I used clear PLA and the light shines nicely through them and especially in the hairy diffuser strands.
Assembly You need CR2032 battery and a 5mm led. Put the led around the battery and push them in the led holder. Friction should be enough to hold them if your (and the battery's) tolerances are ok, but if not, you can use some tape or blu-tack.
To attach the led holder, either push it straight through from the inside until it snaps into place, or at a small angle from the top and then pull straight back into place.
Last, just twist your chosen diffuser in place in the led holder.
Of course, lastly last, you need to attach a piece of string or rubber band through the holes on the sides of the hat to keep the whole thing on your head while partying hard!
Making the special diffusers
Led Top Hairy - After printing this, cut off the round walls and carefully use a heat gun or hair dryer to heat up the strands. For me they already curled nicely by themselves when heating, but you can adjust the strands however you want when they are warmed up and soft.
Led Top Straw - For this you need glue (superglue or hot glue) and seven pieces of clear or translucent filament. Try different lengths! I used clear PETG. Push them through the holes in the cap and glue in place. This is best done attached to the diffuser with led firmly in place, so you don't push the filament too much down and leave no room for the led.
