When my job "upgraded" our computers to the once-latest and very sub-greatest HP laptops, I noticed my brand new ZBook was at risk of overheating by day 2. The main problem was the half-millimeter of clearance between my desk and the cooling intakes, and the rubber feet only serve to choke airflow further.
This was my solution: print some feet to hold the vents upright in the air for maximum airflow.
If you just want the airflow, you only need 2 copies of the "Claw" piece and a couple dowel rods to align them. The feet all include a channel that's meant for some wire to tension them into a single rigid structure.
If you want to keep the silly hockey-puck "dock" these newer laptops use, then you'll want to print the rest of the parts too. I recommend printing the "Sleeve" piece in a soft TPU so you don't have to sand it down to perfection in order to hold the dock cable securely. The design is supposed to also help you align the cable plug so you don't have to keep guessing blindly at where the USB-C port is on the backside of the device.

An attempt to optimize another of the classic Bionicle parts to take advantage of 3D printer limitations instead of injection-molding limitations.
This has a ball joint socket on one end and insets to accept an axle on the other end. The design isn't exactly a recreation of an existing piece, but it's similar to pieces I've needed in the past.

I created this because I was annoyed by how bulky the standard Victorinox handles felt in my pocket. Shaving 2.5-3.5mm sounds like nothing, but it makes a world of difference to how it really feels.

Included are:
- 2mm cover piece that still fits a standard toothpick or tweezer set.
- 1mm cover piece that does not have storage space.
  - I always lose the toothpick anyways, so hey that's another free millimeter!
- Blender 3D source file for adjusting the model to your tastes.

So far I have 3 of the 5 started, though the shapes are still pretty poor recreations of the real faces. As always, my original .Blend file is included if you wish to redesign them for yourself.

This baseplate makes it easier to mount an under-cabinet holder upright on the wall. The default holder is such a nice and compact design, but it's missing a way to keep the whole roll from unwinding itself.

A jar with locking lid inspired by the early 2000s Creator X-Bots set containers. The lid prints fin in any material, but I recommend a more durable material such as PETG for the main jar. Both pieces include insets that fit flat 4x4 and 2x4 plates, or anything smaller.

Convert your traditional Bit Brace hand drill from the classic square attachment style into the modern hex / quick release system, all without needing an extra conversion piece around. This part was modeled from the dimensions of an original set of chuck teeth and redesigned to account for the strength limitations of PLA.

It can accept a wire spring like a normal vice clamp, but works great without it too! If you need to adjust any dimensions for your own tool, the original blender project file is included.

Prints great without supports! I recommend printing at 70% infill or higher to prevent any collapsing under high pressure.

**HEADS UP**: The hatch door had a bad boolean messing up the hinge joint. **Make sure** to download the newest file or edit the .blend yourself before printing!

A recreation of the Metru Nui pods, designed to be more faithful to the films and comics than the toa canister lids. Attach some Technic beams to the pinhole sockets on the lower shell and the hatch door to give it an open/close function.

The shell halves fit together with M2 screws and nuts to give it a properly industrial look. If you want a uniform plastic look, you can also clip some pieces of filament and use them as rivets.

An alternate design for the Bohrok set canister, based on MNOG drawings. Most importantly, having multiple lets you assemble them into the iconic Bohrok Hive walls.

**NOTE**: Updated to include a blank space where you can glue in a transparent window piece. I recommend finding a spherical soda bottle or heat-forming some old packaging.

The Blender project files are included in case you need to adjust any wall thicknesses for your own nozzle size, or just want to improve on the design yourself. Have fun!

A beef-supreme redesign of the traditional Technic ball 'n socket joint, for when your Bionicle MOC is too heavy for its own knees to support.

EDIT: Updated to make it easier to pop the joint into the socket, prevent it popping out as easily, and add more friction.

I highly suggest printing this with a Brim to keep the corners from lifting and deforming. Also needs a support block on part of the socket piece.

An alternate design of the bionicle "hand" joint piece that is built around the strength limitations of 3D Printing. It uses a central axle on the end rather than the sideways inlet and has a custom sized ball socket (similar to Meeple joint, but not exact).

Note: All dimensions are manually undersized by **0.1mm**. I recommend adjusting the original .blend model to suit your setup.

An experiment in designing prints for moving parts. This torpedo has enough room to thread several rubber bands through the back, which then allow the part to be wound up and released. Can fly up to 6 feet before slowing down and drifting.

- Thread 1-4 rubber bands (depending on size) through the lower half so the ends protrude from its top.
- Design and add a washer / glossy "bushing" to the top of the lower half and thread the ends of the rubber bands through it.
- Using the included pin, lock the ends of the bands onto the upper half of the torpedo to finish assembly
  - (NOTE: you'll need to adjust the model to fit some sort of high-gloss washer between the halves to allow them to spin freely against each other). 
- Once assembled, twist the lower fins in the direction that their ends point towards. Place underwater and release!

Original .Blend file is included to allow you to modify the lower half to fit your own style of friction-reducing washer. I just used a glossy metal cap from an old lamp stand.

Future improvements:
- Locking/Firing mechanism. I plan to add some way for the upper and lower halves to key into each other once wound up to act as a trigger mechanism.

Pool Torpedo (self-propelled)

A more moderate version of my 4xL ball joint. Designed with Bionicles in mind, but this can be a useful part for any designs that accept an axle or pin. This one is double the size of a standard Technic ball joint.

I recommend printing with a brim to reduce warping on the corners. I have had a lot of trouble with that. This should print fine without supports.
