MAD68HE and ACE68HE "Holy" Keyboard Case
Hello everyone! This is my first attempt at modeling a mechanical keyboard case for a 68% keyboard layout. This case is compatible with the MAD68HE and ACE68HE models as they share the same PCB layout and case standoff positions.
Currently, I have created two versions of this case:
- (This one) One with printed standoffs.
- (Will upload separately) One with placeholders for threaded inserts that can be soldered into the plastic, allowing for metal standoffs to be secured with screws.
I've printed several prototypes and assembled full keyboards using the MAD68HE and ACE68HE models, and they work well. While it's not perfect and some small adjustments are still required, you can check out the reviews of these assembled keyboards on my YouTube channel: (This one) https://youtu.be/T8G5FzkyZUA (Threaded inserts) https://youtu.be/wASgAg_w-8Y
Known issues:
- Be cautious when using screws; since it's 3D printed, not pressed, and depending on the filament material and settings, plastic standoffs may be fragile!
- Switch plate for enthusiasts only; it requires careful assembly of the switch plate with switches first, followed by the addition of the PCB plate.
I am publishing this first version for free in hopes of receiving constructive feedback. Thank you!
3D printing settings Recommended Print Settings:
Filament: PLA, PETG, or ABS or any other more advanced materials;
Layer Height: 0.2mm recommended for optimal strength and finish
Infill: 15%-30% for a balanced mix of durability and weight
Supports: Minimal supports required; optimized orientation included in files
This package includes ready-to-print .3mf file for:
- Keyboard case body
- Keyboard Wrist Rest
- Switch plate
- Attached Case Legs
- Case Inserts
To focus on just the Case, simply print the case model; that suffices for Keyboard assembly.
Perfect for DIY enthusiasts looking to elevate their mechanical keyboard setup!
Happy printing!
