Customizable Magnetic Sunglasses Case
A magnetic glasses case that was originally designed for clip-on sunglasses, but can be adapted to full sunglasses or even just standard glasses.
Sizes This model comes in three sizes by default. Medium is the size shown in the images. STLs are only provided for Medium due to upload limits, but the 3MF file includes all sizes.
- Small: Fits glasses 125mm wide, 40mm tall, 12mm deep
- Medium: Fits glasses 135mm wide, 45mm tall, 15mm deep
- Large: 165mm wide, 60mm tall, 20mm deep
Note: As a subscriber, you can edit model dimensions in Fusion360 to make a custom version of this model. See the parameterization section for more info.
Parameterization Need a different size to fit your customer's needs? No problem!
- Simply drop the .f3d file into Fusion360, and select 'Change Parameters' from the 'Modify' dropdown menu.
- Not all shapes and sizes will scale perfectly on all models - if you need help getting your particular dimensions to work, please feel free to reach out! Custom model requests are included with your subscription.
Assembly

The case prints in three parts. The Case_Bottom, Case_Lid, and Pin. The pin just pops in the right side of the case.

Insert magnets into the 4 locations shown below. Be sure to orient them in the correct polarity. The magnets I used are 4.7mm diameter x 3.2mm thick. You can edit the magnet hole sizes via the model parameters.

[Optional] Adding a laser-cut felt liner to protect your lenses
- In Fusion360, create a sketch on the inside surface of the Case_Lid
- Right click the sketch and hit 'Export DXF'
- That DXF can be imported into CAM software for laser cutting a liner.
