Looked everywhere for VR headset holder that doesn't screw onto my desk and that holds the headset face down to minimize dust inside. That didn't exist so I remixed some stuff, created my own attachment system to make it actually printable and made this bad ass beauty you're looking at.
This mount works with both a default quest 2 or a kitted out one with a VRcover and lens adapters/etc.
Print with any material you like and snap together, At least 3 line walls and 10% gyroid infill. I used .2mm with 3 lined walls and 20% infill with Esun PETG and it was more than strong enough. (Nut is optional)
The only part that needs support is the faceplate. It needs 3 tiny towers for the attachment pegs. You can use any type of support you like but MAKE SURE TO USE A LARGE SUPPORT BRIM or the supports will topple. (Even if this happens you're probably fine though, my tallest support has failed before and it somehow prints in mid air and recovers because of the shape of the attachment peg).
Feel free to borrow this attachment system, I looked around and haven't found anything like it. I think it could be used in tons of 3d printing projects. It's extremely snappy and strong.
