Bamboo Bits - Toolbox on your Table - Screwdriver, Tape measure, Tool Storage

Bamboo Bits - Intermediate
A Tool Box on your Table This is my favorite design i've made so far. Not just because it looks nice, but because of how useful it is. I am always misplacing tools, and this completely solves that!
Bamboo bits allows you to keep your tools in plain site and still have a clean look.
Shoot Screwdriver One of the bamboo shoots is a screwdriver! It has room to store 4 different bits, that you can swap quickly thanks to a built-in magnet slots. So you always have a phillips head AND flat head at the same time
Pot Tape Measure The pot doubles as a tape measure! It holds standard 60" clothing tape measures. The pot and stand spin so you can wrap up the tape just like a normal tape measure
Extra Shoot Storage Two of the shoots hold extra bits, so you can make sure you always have those weird star and square bits for when you need them!
For print settings, open the 3mf file, and you will see all the settings, and orientation i recommend for printing!

Great design!
Thanks Ruven!
Love this! Making it for my classroom, but it would be cool if the shoots had other uses too for tools. A wrench or a small hammer or even pliers. Just thinking of other tools I often use in my classroom!
Thank you and those are great Ideas! The other shoots currently just hold the extra screw bits. It would be a little more difficult to source other tool pieces like that, but it is a cool idea.
with these settings I can't finish printing because the pieces fall onto the plate in the last 5 minutes, any suggestions?
Are you using the 3mf file? There are a few reasons why your print could be falling over. I would start with making sure you clean your build plate with dish soap and warm water.
Thanks anyway, I had already tried to clean everything but the bamboo caps always fell off, in the end I solved it by printing them one at a time very slowly!!
Thank you for letting us know that you got it to work. Printing them one at a time and slowly should definitely work, since they are tall and rather thin on the build plate. Especially depending on the printer you are using.
I used a Bambulab P1S with a filament volumetric speed of 5 !!
Have you tried putting in a 120 in tape measure? Also, many of the tape measures are 20mm wide and don't fit the model. Have you considered making the base just a tad deeper to fit the wider tape measure? I have some at home, but they are too big by just a couple of mm's so I had to purchase one specifically for this model.
Hi! I know it can be super disappointing when you have to get a specific item for a model, but with all of the options out there, I just made it compatible with the one size to keep things simple for everyone. I do link everything I use in the description too, to be safe. And I truly appreciate the feedback, so thank you for that! I'll keep it in mind with future designs.
Might be a stretch, but will these shoots fit into the Bambookends?
They may be able to be balanced to sit on top of the holes, but they will most likely fall over. Since they don't have any parts sticking out far enough to hold them in place, like the shoots for the bookends, they wouldn't really work as well without serious modification.
Magnet size? Where can we order the drill bits?
That info is in the description with links to the materials he used
5 x 3 mm magnets as it says in the discription. Any Screw driver hex bits should work with this model so you can pick your preference.
