This altar empowers his blood magic and enables him to summon corrupted anima wells, even make dead Phrallix's raise from their graves, a power we thought wasn't possible before, we thought they had to be alive to get corrupted, maybe he just purely controls those with blood magic, like a puppet on strings. He doesn't stop with the Phrallix, we have seen him manifest animal corpses from the ground that charge into our ranks. Only to dissolve into blood puddles right after.
