I got engrossed in hexagon chess, and I didn’t like some of the other models that were online. So I made my own, and now a travel pack! There are 91 board hexagons, the standard set of pieces, but with an extra pawn and bishop. When designing the pieces I didn't know how to design a horse, so the knight is the only piece that shouldn't be easily recognizable. (the spiky one) Typically the board is black, white, and grey so that is what I will use in the setup below. Step files are included, but I recommend using the stls for the inserts to remove the hassle of separating and finding what I called them. They will most likely be too small for the stl format to be limiting. Feel free to improve! Designed around 5x2mm magnets, expect plenty of magnet work. They all should be able to be press-fitted into place if you dare. Setup: You will need 34 outer inserts, with four outer middle inserts. 30 in both black and in white of the primary insert, and 24 of them in grey. The primary middle insert will need to be in grey and will be 14 of them. If you are hurting for magnets, it have your fingers glued together already, you can replace 7 of them with the outer model since the only difference is that they don't have magnets. The board base basically needs support unless your printer has amazing cooling. The sheath may need some for the side chamfers. Nothing else should need supports. Per side: 3 bishops, 10 pawns, a king, a queen, 2 of every other chess piece. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hexagonal_chess#Gli%C5%84ski's_hexagonal_chess
