Ender 3 Mainboard Cover 92mm Noctua A9x14 3d model

This is a mainboard cover replacement for the Ender 3 which allows the use of a Noctua A9x14.

NOTE: It is very important that you use the 14mm thick version of the A9 and NOT the 25mm thick version. This is because this model has very little clearance in order to make clearance for v-rollers or linear rails. I would recommend doing a test fit before trying this. The fan sticks out 4mm from the top of the mainboard housing.

This can also house 2 LM2596 adjustable Buck Converters (or another buck converter of similar size and screw hole placement.

For hardware, to mount this to the mainboard housing you will need (for this you can also just reuse the original screws for the metal cover if you still have them):

  • 2x M6 screws
  • 1x M8 screw

To mount the fan I used the self-tapping screws that came with the Noctua fan.

For each LM2596 mount you will need:

  • 2-4x M4 screws

When soldering the wires for the LM2596, I also recommend soldering the wires so they stick up instead of going out horizontally otherwise you might find there isn't enough clearance for the wires depending on how you've soldered them and the gauge of the wire.

This is designed so that there is clearance for both v-rollers and side-mounted y-axis linear rails.

I have also included the STEP file, if remixing or re-purposing elsewhere, all I ask is that you credit me. Thanks!
