Hello,
after my Level Sensor Upgrade ( https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2954899 ) to the back and the freedom that comes with it, i decided to remove the heatsink from the extruder cooling fan, cause it is a pain in the a.... to change filament.
And now, it works like a charm. You can see it in the pictures. I changed filament during the print! Paused the printer and changed the filament just at the right time to get the white top layer on the mounting and the holdings for the fan.
Look at the pictures, pictures are saying more than 1000 words.
The original screws are much too long, you need M3x25mm - i used DIN912 (allen bolt)
I uploaded 2 versions:
- V2 is with more space between the extruder shaft and the fan
- V3 is 4mm shorter, so the fan is near the extruder shaft
Take which version you like more , both working for me.
At the pictures you see the v2 version. I use this version. You can change filament without removing the fan! The space between the extruder shaft and the fan is wide enough to see easy the hole for the filament.
